Project description:
DEIS has developed a variety of OERs (Open Educational Resources) funded under the NDLR (National Digital Learning Resources) initiative both on a local level (here in Cork Institute of Technology) and on an inter-institutional level whereby larger collaborative projects have taken place.
NDLR – Local Innovation Projects (LIPS)
The Local Innovation Projects (LIPs) are institutional projects funded by the NDLR to allow for the creation of reusable resources to support teaching and learning. LIPs projects created by DEIS during the 2010/11 funding period include a video tutorial to teach core skills in the Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary sector; an interactive Maths resource for reinforcement; and demonstrations on the use of Web 2.0 tools in Education.
NDLR – Learning Innovation Community Support Projects (LInCS)
The Learning Innovation Community Support Projects (LInCS) are collaborative projects between the Universities and IoTs to develop larger scale reusable learning resources. LInCS projects created during the past funding year include “Exercise to Music and Anatomy and Physiology Assessment Tools” which was coordinated by DEIS. The key concept of this project was to address the need for Rich Media Learning Resources in the area of Sports and Health.
