The OERs developed in the Mobile: Connected Support for Inquiry project were designed to take advantage of the affordances of mobile phones to enhance learning by creating mediated and augmented reality learning scenarios where learners were required to use their mobile devices to complete or progress their task, solve problems or accomplish a goal while gathering of real-time data. Resources were developed to make learning more meaningful for students by bringing learners and learning out into the world and bridging the gap between theory and practice, thus enhancing critical/scientific thinking and personal inquiry based learning, and also as a support to lecturers in demonstrating innovative uses for mobile devices.
